Council is responsible for managing a large road network of sealed and unsealed roads throughout the district, including the ongoing maintenance and renewal. Some of our upcoming projects are listed below, or for a more detailed list click here

2016/17 Capital Works Projects

Capital Projects

Millbrook Road, Upper Hermitage


Upgade to two fords on Millbrook Road will commence on Monday 5 June 2017.  Works are expected to take three weeks to complete.  The area effected by the works will be closed during this time and detour signage will be in place.  Project Manager is Ari Mudugamuwa, 8408 0541.

Blockers Road, Basket Range

Safety improvement works commenced 5 June 2017 and will take approximately 4 weeks to complete. The road may be closed at times but our contactor will endeavour to keep traffic flowing through a restricted work area where possible. Project Manager is Peter Muller, 8408 0540.


Pirralilla Place, Stirling

The upgrade of stormwater infrastructure in Pirralilla Place is underway. Works include upgrade to drainage infastructure and kerbing, and replacement of damaged road seal.  Works are expected to be completed mid July. Project Manager is Joel Eckerman, 8408 0550.

The playground reopened to the public on Wednesday, 21 December 2016.

The reconstruction of 840 metres of Sturt Valley Road completed

Stormwater infrastructure upgrade completed

Lange Crescent, Birdwood

Stormwater infrastructure upgrade completed

Charles Street, Woodside

Kerbing installation and stormwater works completed

John Street, Oakbank

Kerbing installation on northern side completed

Footpath Works, Woodside

New footpath completed

Horn Street, Houghton

Kerbing and stormwater upgrade completed

Union Street, Lobethal

Kerbing and footpath upgrades have been completed.
