Rural Land Management Advisory Group

Adelaide Hills Council is seeking expressions of interest for membership of the Rural Land Management Advisory Group (RLMAG). The RLMAG, amongst other things, assists Council in formulating appropriate planning and development policies and strategies for the retention of and optimum utilisation of rural land.

The RLMAG Terms of Reference outline the composition and role of the group, which provides Council with specialist advice and expertise regarding agriculture and rural land management issues. Download a copy of the Terms of Reference here.

The term of office of all Independent Members on the Advisory Group expires in December 2015. Council is therefore seeking expressions of interest from members of the public with extensive expertise, practical hands-on experience in and/or knowledge of:

  • Viticulture
  • Horticulture
  • Horse Keeping
  • Grazing/Broadacre
  • The Primary Production Industry more generally

Council is seeking one representative from each of these five areas of expertise. These representatives can be owners, operators, or managers of such agricultural pursuits, but they must be from within the Adelaide Hills region.

This is a voluntary role for which no sitting fee is paid. The RLMAG generally meets once a month on a Wednesday morning from 9:00am – 11:00am.

Expressions of Interest must be lodged in writing to Council at PO Box 44, Woodside SA 5244 or mail@ahc.sa.gov.au by no later than 5:00pm on Friday 11 December 2015.

Genuine enquiries may be made to Mike Flehr, Senior Strategic and Policy Planner on (08) 8408 0503 during business hours.
