​Basket Range​Nicols Road​Closed to traffic due to storm damage.
​Basket Range​Burdetts Road (from Lobethal Road to Rivenwood Lane)

Single lane access open from 21 December 2016 for fire danger season. Permanent remediation works to be carried out Febraury 2017.

​Birdwood​Angus Creek Road ​Single lane access only, speed restrictions in place
​Cherryville​Fernhurst Road​Single lane access only, approx 1km from Cherryville Road. 5 tonne load limit applies.
​Heathfield​Cricklewood Road​Closed to traffic due to gum tree down onto powerlines and road.
​Lenswood​Fox Creek Road (from intersection with Croft and Coldstore Roads for approx 2km towards Cudlee Creek Road)​Single lane access only, temporary traffic lights in use.
Permanent remediation works planned for early 2017.
​Teringie​Ridgeland Drive​Controlled traffic restrictions, temporary traffic lights in use. Permanent redmediation works planned for early 2017.

Council will continue to monitor the situation and re-open the roads once it is safe to do so.

MONTACUTE ROAD UPDATE | 20 December 2016

Less than five weeks since extreme weather events caused widespread damage in the Adelaide Hills and significantly impacted Montacute Road, the Council reopened the road to all traffic at 4pm, Monday 31 October. Read the media release.

Just a quick update on the status of works by DEWNR at Gate 17 leading into the festive season and fire risk season.


Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources (DEWNR) have advised that their contractors will be commencing works to reinstate temporary emergency vehicle access to Gate 17 (on Montacute Road) prior to 25 December 2016. Work is expected to be completed prior to the New Year.

DEWNR will engage a consulting engineer to undertake further engineering design to finalise the works in 2017.
