Jenny – library home delivery and selection

She's always been a book lover and regular library user so covering books in the library allows Jenny to be surrounded by the things that bring her joy. And she also spreads the love of reading around the hills doing home delivery and selection.

"I help people who are vision impaired, elderly or have other things that prevent them from visiting the library and we talk about the books and then I get the pleasure of delivering them."

Book deliverers work in pairs so there is always someone to chat to on the road but Jenny says as well as her friendships with other volunteers, she has developed so many rich and rewarding relationships and experiences.

"One of my favourite connections comes from planting giant sunflowers in an empty bed of a Lobethal retirement village. They grew so well we spread the seeds around the region and now we have a competition to see who can grow the biggest."
