Community leaders recognised on Australia Day

On Sunday, 26 January, Mayor Jan-Claire Wisdom presented the Citizen of the Year Awards for the district at a ceremony on the Stirling Lawn. Congratulations to our 2020 community recipients!

Citizen of the Year | Rick Drury from Inglewood
Rick was nominated for being a true community leader and active member of the Paracombe and Inglewood area. He was recognised for years of service with the CFS, and for his generosity in supporting the community through his local business.

Young Citizen of the Year | Bradley Rohrlach from Nairne
Bradley is the founder of the Adelaide Hills Council district's gaming event, XitH, which celebrates its 50th iteration this year. His commitment to helping create safe and social places for young people in the region continues to have an important and valued effect.

Community Event of the Year | Pome Fest 2019
Pome Fest was an initiative created out of concern after the second consecutive year of hail damage to the region's apple and pear crops. Nearly 1,000 visitors participated in activities that highlighted an innovative, productive, and resilient industry that is an important part of the Adelaide Hills Council district.

Other Council Members also presented Civic Awards to community members around the region, in recognition of their leadership and community spirit. Congratulations to these worthy recipients!
