Public access defibrillators rolling out across Hills venues

St John Ambulance SA will be deploying over 300 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) into regional SA over the next three years, with the Hills community benefiting from installations in 13 venues from Bridgewater to Kersbrook.

Thanks to a grant from the Australian Hotels Association SA and Clubs SA, this fantastic project will greatly benefit residents and visitors to the region. Sudden cardiac arrest is one of Australia's leading causes of death, and the application of a defibrillator shock can give a 90% survival rate if administrated in the first minute. By having public access defibrillators in high-traffic areas, it is hoped that people in need can get this crucial response in a life-threatening situation.

The installation launch will be held at the Aldgate Pump Hotel (one of the Hills' first recipients), from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday 8 May. Below is a list of all of the venues where AEDs will be installed (dates of installation are not yet confirmed).
