Cudlee Creek and Cherry Gardens Bushfires

The Adelaide Hills is no stranger to the devastating and widespread impacts of bushfires. The Council is committed to supporting and empowering our community through the recovery from bushfires.

Cudlee Creek bushfire

On Friday 20 December 2019, an uncontrolled fire broke out in Cudlee Creek.​ More than 25,000 hectares of the district was burned including homes, outbuildings, vehicles and other property.

Recovery will be different for everyone, but as a district we understand that it will be a long process.

Cherry Gardens bushfire

On Monday 25 January 2021, an uncontrolled fire broke out in Cherry Gardens.​ More than 2,700 hectares of the district was burned including buildings.

Recovery will be different for everyone, but as a district we understand that it will be a long process.
