Stay up-to-date with our events and programs
Regular programs including exercise classes, craft groups, art classes and more are held in both centres and outreach locations throughout the Adelaide Hills Council area.
Workshops and information sessions are regularly run at both centres and occur both during opening hours and after hours or on weekends. Topics include health and wellbeing, creative arts, cooking and emergency planning.
Both centres run a community shed program. The Green Shed is situated at the back of The Torrens Valley Community Centre. The Red Shed is operated by The Summit Community Centre, but is located offsite at Greenhill Road, Uraidla.
Participants are welcome to work on their own project or join in a community project. No special skills are required. All are welcome. Though it is often referred to as a 'Men's Shed', other activities are regularly offered, such as women's maintenance courses, school holiday activities and gardening workshops.
Both centres offer venue hire with fully equipped kitchens including cutlery, crockery and glassware available. The community room at each centre is equipped with a data screen projector, fold-up tables and stackable chairs and can be used for a diverse range of events including professional presentations, yoga classes, craft groups, art classes, family functions and training courses. There is also a small meeting room that can be hired at each centre.
The Summit Community Centre runs a vibrant exhibition program throughout the year. Artists are able to host an exhibition from 4 - 6 weeks duration. Please get in touch if you would like to know more. We also host our own SALA exhibition every August and a call out to artists that wish to participate in this exhibition takes place a few months prior.
Justice of the Peace services are available at some Council Service Centres and Libraries to assist with your business. No appointment is required.
