Every year Adelaide Hills Council residents produce approximately 7500 tonnes of waste. Join KESAB on a tour of our local waste and recycling facilities to see how we process it

Discover where materials go, how they are processed and what we can do to live more sustainably.

Tours are provided by the Adelaide Hills Regional Waste Management Authority and Adelaide Hills Council for residents of the Adelaide Hills.

Depart: Bridgewater Oval (Please BYO lunch)

• 9:15 am Attendees arrive Bridgewater Oval for registration (AZTEC Oval: 390 Mount Barker Road, Bridgewater) Note: please allow time for parking.

• 9:20 am Bus arrives at Bridgewater for attendees to board

• 9:30 am Bus departs for Peats Soils- Green lidded organics bin processing

• 10:15 am Arrive at Peats Soils for a discussion and site bus tour (Toilet break)

• 11:15 am Depart for Brinkley Waste Transfer Station-Tour of landfill and station options

• 11:45 am Arrive Brinkley Waste & Recycling Facility Tour of landfill and transfer station

• 12:45 pm Tour and refreshments at Brinkley Reuse Centre (Toilet break)

• 13:10 pm Depart Brinkley for Bridgewater Oval

• 14:00 pm Return to start/tour finish (BYO lunch)

Enclosed, low-heeled shoes must be worn for safety reasons. Sneakers are ideal.

• Please be advised that there may be some walking at sites. This may include uneven surfaces of an operational facility. Some sites may be viewed from the bus.

• Some sites may be dusty and noisy so please bring your own mask/earplugs if you wish to use them.

• Water, juice, fruit and some snacks will be provided as light refreshments, but you are also welcome to bring your own snacks and lunch for later. Please pack waste free options as there are no options for stopping to purchase or heat up food and no bins for material disposal.

• Please be aware that toilets are only available at the marked toilet break location
