Community Groups Forum Image Gallery
The Community Groups Forum on Thursday, 28 November, was a fantastic evening of networking, learning, and collaboration.
Hosted at the Balhannah Oval Football Clubrooms, attendees enjoyed a free sausage sizzle, had the chance to connect with fellow community groups, and explored opportunities through Council's Community Grants Program.
Veronica Forsayeth from the Charleston Emergency Response and Recovery group shared a presentation on the fantastic work the group has done with the local community to be prepared for bushfire or any other emergency. Georgia McDonnell, Adelaide Hill Young Citizen of the Year and Vice President of the Upper Sturt Soldiers Memorial Hall also presented on her committee connection with the Upper Sturt and Aldgate Halls, and the Hut Repair Cafe. This included her work organising the Strawberry Fair and the challenges of keeping a community group active and engaged.
Council staff and Elected Members were on hand to chat and share insights, while the relaxed setting provided the perfect backdrop for building connections.
