In the buildings where the iconic Onkaparinga blankets were once crafted, Fabrik Arts + Heritage is set to weave a new story
To celebrate this major re-development, Fabrik will showcase an opening weekend program, from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September with be artist talks, workshops, music, and exhibitions.
This heritage listed site has great significance to the Adelaide Hills community, not only as a place of industry, but as a place of refuge and recovery post the 2019 Cudlee Creek bushfires that surrounded the town of Lobethal. Almost five years on, the community can celebrate this space again.
Fabrik features an A-class gallery, retail store and event space alongside workshop spaces, artist studios and accommodation for artists in residence. Throughout the hub its textile roots and Onkaparinga Woollen Mill history are celebrated through museum displays.
Fabrik will open to the public at 5pm on Friday 20 September. Visitors are invited to explore our exhibitions, visit the gallery shop, join an artist workshop, enjoy some live entertainment, and listen to a curator talk from Kay Lawrence.
