After 43 years Gumeracha's iconic Big Rocking Horse gets a face-lift

Gumeracha unveiled the Big Rocking Horse attraction in 1981. Thanks to the generosity of local businesses the 18-metre landmark has been reinvigorated for the enjoyment of visitors for years to come.

Local company Snyders Painting were behind the idea of giving the horse a new lick of paint and volunteered their time to complete the project and organise the paint.

To repaint the entire horse took approximately 10 days and more than 220 litres of paint, including 140 litres of white paint, 20 litres of red paint, 20 litres of black paint and 40 litres of an anti-corression coating - which was all generously donated by Haymes Paint.

The owner of the Big Rocking Horse Mell Penno is absolutely chuffed at the community support the iconic horse has received.

The project would have cost $100,000 to complete, we are truly humbled and grateful at the generosity of the local suppliers and volunteers for their support.
