This initiative was meticulously crafted through extensive engagement with our community. We really listened to them so we could ensure the program caters to their specific needs and interests. Winning this award reaffirms that our organisation and community stand at the very forefront of resilience efforts in Australia.
I congratulate our passionate Community Resilience Team led by Miranda Hampton, on this well-deserved achievement. Their dedication and hard work exemplify the spirit of resilience that sets our community apart.
Their tireless efforts continue to make a significant impact, supporting our community in building resilience and preparing for natural disasters and other community-affecting events.
It’s also important to recognise that our South Australian partners including SA Red Cross, Charleston Community Resilience Group, PIRSA, Kangaroo Island Council’s Resilient Ready Program and photographer Jayme Moorland were also finalists, with SA Red Cross and Jayme being highly commended in their category.
Working together with these partners has enable us to create momentum for developing resilience capacity in our communities. That connection and unity is an important factor in this program’s success.
