Green organics bin

A full compost bin makes a gardener grin

International Compost Awareness Week is almost here, and Adelaide Hills Council are celebrating with an education stall in the Coventry Library from 6 - 15 May.

The stall will provide tips on recycling organics back into nutrient rich soil. Composting can help limit carbon pollution by reducing organic materials in landfill all while helping to build healthier soils - now that's something to smile about!

Celebrated annually, International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW) is designed to promote the benefits of composting and compost itself for effective resource management, soil health, and plant growth.

The Council education stall will be providing tips on recycling organics back into nutrient rich soil.

Fun fact: The contents of your kerbside green lidded organic bins are collected by East Waste and transported to Jeffries where it is composted into nutrient rich soil. Jeffries bagged soils are available at many stores and by purchasing a bag you just might be buying back your green lidded bin contents!

International Compost Awareness Week runs from 7 – 13 May 2023. Find out more at: www.compostweek.com.au
