Mylor Bike Track temporarily closed

Council has received advice from two independent specialised bike track consultants regarding the current condition of the Mylor Bike track.

Various actions have been identified to improve the safety of both the advanced jumps and pump track areas, meaning Council will be implementing the following measures as a priority:

• Closure of and isolating of the advanced jumps for public safety reasons due to the deterioration of condition of several jumps.

• Council to engage contractors to undertake advanced jump remediation works to return them back to original condition. It is anticipated that these works will be implemented within the first 2 months of 2025.

• Short term closure of public access to the pump track area so essential remediation works can commence. It is anticipated that the pump track will be reopened by Friday 3rd January 2025.

• The pump track works will include:

o Sweeping of loose material off the berms and rollers and removals or excess material off site

o Leveling / removal of loose material and removal of two mounds within the red indicated area in Map 1 below.

• Installation and management of temporary fencing as per Map 2 details below.
