New Reconciliation artwork at Stirling Coventry Library

The new decals on the Coventry Library are part of Council’s Reconciliation branding and is based on the artwork “Shared Country” by Paul Munaitya Herzich of mantirridesign. The different symbols in the artwork represent stars and waterholes, rivers, sedges and coolamons.

Council’s Reconciliation branding represents both an acknowledgement of Country and Council’s commitment to Reconciliation. We celebrate and recognise Traditional Custodians and the significant number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who live, work and have strong connection to our area.

Through public art, place making, interpretive signage and acknowledgement we recognise the Aboriginal culture of our area as a fundamental aspect of our history and heritage and, importantly, as a living contemporary culture.
