Save Our Wildlife Foundation lease proposal for 22 Wright Road Stirling

Save Our Wildlife Foundation Inc. (SOWFI) was established in South Australia in 2018. Adelaide Hills Council is proposing a lease be established for five years at 22 Wright Road Stirling for SOFWI. This would provide use of an area for aviaries, the dwelling and the existing storage shed on site. The remaining Community Use Area allows the general community to continue using the site for passive recreation purposes.

What Save Our Wildlife Foundation do:

  • Rescuing and caring for sick, injured, orphaned and displaced native wildlife with the intention of returning them to the wild.
  • Providing training to volunteers in all aspects of wildlife rehabilitation based on the latest scientific practices and evidence.
  • Promoting the protection of wildlife by maintaining and re-establishing habitat in collaboration with other conservation groups and research institutions.
  • Advising the community on solutions to wildlife problems.
  • Raising public awareness of South Australia’s unique wildlife and its diverse habitat requirements through community talks and education programmes.
  • Operating an efficient wildlife organisation in South Australia which can be contacted at any time by any person in the community needing assistance with the care or rescue of native wildlife.
  • Publishing a newsletter every two months and distributing it to current members and sponsors
