Support for Gumeracha residents during power outage

The Adelaide Hills Council and the local community is stepping in to help Gumeracha residents and businesses affected by the recent power outage. Here’s what’s available:

Community Centre power and internet access

The Torrens Valley Community Centre and Library in Gumeracha currently have power and internet for anyone who needs a place to work or stay connected.

Please be aware that these services may experience temporary outages during ongoing repair work.

Charleston Hall respite services

Charleston Hall will be open for respite on the following dates and times:

  • Today, Wednesday, 4 September: 4 pm to 7 pm
  • Tomorrow, Thursday, 5 September: 8 am to 11 am

The hall offers:

  • Phone and computer charging stations
  • Tea and coffee
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Hot desks
  • Fridge access
  • Kitchen facilities for cooking

Free Food Waste Disposal

To assist with food waste disposal, Council is providing a free skip bin:

  • From 1 pm today, Wednesday, 4 September
  • Until 1 pm, Friday, 6 September

The bin is located in the parking bay on Kenton Valley Road, just outside Gumeracha (view the map below). Please use this bin for food waste only.
