Who makes a real difference in your community?
For so many it’s the sense of community that makes living in the Adelaide Hills so special. So, we want to shine a light on those who help to make it such a special place.
This month we’re encouraging our community to nominate people who make a difference for a Citizen of the Year award.
It could be your neighbour, a friend, a connection through a community club or group. We want to hear your stories of our unsung heroes!
There are four major categories open for nominations:
- Citizen of the Year, presented to someone making an extraordinary contribution to the community and may recognise outstanding service over a number of years. To be eligible, the person must be an Australian Citizen.
- Young Citizen of the Year, presented to a young emerging leader who is making a real difference in their community. To be eligible, the person must be an Australian Citizen aged over 16 years and under 30 years of age on January 26, 2023.
- Community Event of the Year, presented to the person or group who has staged the most outstanding event for their community. To be eligible, the person or group must be Australian Citizens.
- Active Citizenship award, presented to a person or group delivering (or having delivered) outstanding work on a project, initiative or event for the community during the past calendar year. They may be an unsung hero who benefits a few people or many, in small or in major ways. The person or group need not be Australian Citizens.
Nominations close on Friday 18 November and awards are presented on Australia Day, 26 January 2023.
Join us in celebrating those who go above and beyond to make the Hills a better place for all.
