Young driver awareness course. BYO Car!
The Young Driver Defensive Driving Course is designed for those on their L’s and P’s.
On Saturday April 16 from 8.30am to 4.45pm, instructors from the Australian Driving Institute will guide participants on how to plan ahead, stay aware, and operate their vehicles safely and effectively.
The course includes both defensive driving theory and hands-on practical exercises, teaching essential skills that many driving instructors don’t cover.
Key topics include:
- Braking and steering techniques
- Safe following distances
- The impact of alcohol, distractions, peer pressure, and fatigue
- Accident avoidance
- And much more!
This course is subsidised by the Adelaide Hills Council, reducing the cost to $50 per person for Learner and P-plate drivers who live, work, study, play sports, or volunteer in the Adelaide Hills Council District.
Important Information:
- When booking a ticket, a copy of all drivers' and supervisors' licenses (front and back) is required to complete the purchase.
- Participants must bring their own vehicle.
- Learners must be accompanied by a supervising driver (Make sure to purchase the L’s ticket if you have someone accompanying you, as it includes the supervisor for catering purposes.)
- While it's encouraged for probationary drivers to bring a supervisor, it’s not required. If bringing a supervisor, please ensure they book a ticket for catering purposes.
