Council Registers

Council maintains and publishes a variety of registers for public access and review in accordance with the Local Government Act 1999, which are available to view on the Council's website.

In accordance with section 132(1) of the Local Government Act 1999, councils must ensure that prescribed documents are maintained and publicly available on the Council's website. For your convenience, this page provides a consolidated list of documents and links to documents that are available.

Council Member and Council Staff — Gifts and Benefits Register

Section 63(1) of the Local Government Act 1999 requires Council Members to record Gifts and Benefits received.​

Confidential Items Register

Section 90 of the Local Government Act 1999 provides that a Council or Council Committee may order that the public be excluded from attendance at a meeting under specific circumstances in order for a matter to be considered confidentially. Section 91 provides that the Council or Council Committee may make an order for a document considered in confidence at a meeting under Section 90 to be kept confidential for a specified duration. These documents are listed on the Confidential Items Register. Once the period of confidentiality ceases, these documents are available to the public as Released Confidential Items.

Registers of Interests for Council Members and Independent Members

Section 70(a1) of the Local Government Act 1999 requires Council to publish Council Member details as recorded in the Register of Interest.

Council Members Register of Allowances and Benefits

Section 79(1) of the Local Government Act 1999 requires Council's Chief Executive Officer to record all allowances and benefits received by Council Members.​

Council Employees Register of Salaries

Section 105 of the Local Government Act 1999 requires Council's Chief Executive Officer to keep a record (the Register of Salaries) in accordance with principles (if any) prescribed by the regulations.

Public Roads Register

Section 231 of the Local Government Act 1999 requires Council to keep a Register of Public Roads in its area.

Community Land Management Plan

Section 207 of the Local Government Act 1999 requires that Council keep a register of all Community Land in its area. The register lists all Council owned community land that is under the care, control and management of the Council.

Development Applications Register

Section 98 of the Development Regulations 2008 under the Development Act 1999 requires Council to keep a Register of Applications for consent, approval or the assignment of building classifications under the Act.
