Council Strategies and Plans

Strategic plans set out the Council’s key areas of focus and enable it to allocate appropriate resources to achieve the desired outcomes for our community. It doesn’t include everything we do, but it highlights the main areas under attention and where we will be directing resources over the period.

Extensive community consultation is undertaken to develop our strategic plans to ensure that the aspirations and priorities of all stakeholders are taken into account and reflected.

The overarching planning framework for the Council's decision-making is the long-term strategic management plan, A Brighter Future. Other key strategic planning documents include the Long-Term Financial Management Plan and Asset Management Plans. These plans are updated and reviewed regularly to ensure that the priorities continue to be relevant.
