An exciting opportunity now exists for a Senior People & Culture Advisor to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Role

Reporting to the Manager People & Culture, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Providing advice, guidance and coaching to People Leaders concerning employee engagement, performance management, career development, talent assessment and retention
  • Supporting internal recruitment, selection and probation procedures
  • Providing support to the negotiation process for Enterprise Development Agreements
  • Ensuring that relevant awards and the enterprise agreements are correctly applied to all staff members
  • Overseeing internal Return to Work and Income Protection claims and ensuring that they are managed in accordance with relevant policies and procedures
  • In collaboration with the Manager, provide coaching, regular feedback and support to direct reports (up to 4) to positively influence their learning, development, career and output
  • Ensuring that the team works collaboratively across the Council and the desired organisational values are modelled in all aspects of work and individual behaviours
  • Ensuring that operations are effectively planned, delivered and are compliant with relevant legislation
  • Developing, implementing and regularly reviewing policies to ensure that they remain reflective of best practice
  • Participating in strategic human resources projects as requested by the Manager that contribute towards the Council’s culture
  • Other general human resources duties as required by the Council

About You

  • Qualifications in Human Resources or a relevant field
  • Demonstrated evidence of strong organisational and complex problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise tasks to meet competing deadlines and objectives
  • Cooperative, flexible, team orientated approach with the ability to coach, mentor and develop others
  • Ability to address employee concerns or performance standards and partner with relevant leaders to provide advice
  • Contemporary approach to human resource management and a continuous improvement focus
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to act with integrity, confidentiality, respect and empathy
