State and local heritage places
The Adelaide Hills Council contains many heritage listed properties as well as the State Heritage Area Mt Torrens. You can click here to determine if a property is heritage listed.
Do I need approval?
Development Approval is required for works to State and Local Heritage Places detailed below:
- State Heritage Places - the demolition, removal, conversion, alteration or painting of, or addition to, the place, or any other work that could materially affect the heritage value of the place.
- Local Heritage Places - the demolition, removal, conversion, alteration or painting of, or addition to, the place or any other work (in the case of a tree, any tree damaging activity) that could materially affect the heritage value of the place.
If you are unsure if the painting will materially affect the heritage value of the place, please discuss with Council Planning Staff or Councils Heritage Advisor.
