Sunday 2 March 2025 Event Information

Ride or walk the Amy Gillett Pathway and discover an array of music, art, food and entertainment all set against the backdrop of the spectacular rolling Adelaide Hills.

Whether on wheels, hoof or by foot, the Amy Gillett Pathway is an ideal and scenic recreation trail spanning up to 15km of bitumised surface meandering through picturesque towns, past iconic hills businesses and lush, thriving wineries encompassing Oakbank, Woodside, Charleston and Mount Torrens.

In 2025 there will also be a Touch a Truck event at Mount Torrens, where families can get up close and personal with trucks and machinery!

The event is open to all ages, you can ride all or part of it and, best of all, it’s FREE! We’re inviting families, friends and locals to get involved on Sunday 2 March 2025 from 9am to 3pm.

Check out the highlights below from 'Discover Play Bikeway!' on Sunday 3 March 2024.

We had a great turn-out at our activity hubs in Woodside and Charleston, along with the market in Mt Torrens.

The weather was perfect and the crowd were entertained by performers, live music, face painting, a petting zoo, story reading at the mobile library, food, coffee, art, craft and stalls.

A commitment to community wellbeing

Discover, Play, Bikeway! and similar events are hosted by the Council in line with our strategic plan.

Council's strategic plan, A Brighter Future, sets out our key focus areas and goals for the next four years. Our goals for the community fall into five key goal areas — built environment, community wellbeing, economy, natural environment, and organisation.

Improving community wellbeing is a critical part of the work we do and inclusive events that encourage active, healthy and connected lifestyles support this priority. You can see our strategic plan in action all over the district and Discover, Play, Bikeway! is an example of our commitment to community wellbeing.

The key priorities that Discover, Play, Bikeway! delivered on are listed below and our strategic plan is available to download from the link below.

  • Priority C6.2 — Develop, support or bring events to our district that have social, cultural, environmental or economic benefits.
  • Priority C6.3 — Recognise, encourage and support artists, emerging artists, writers and performers through promotion of the Arts and supporting opportunities to exhibit and perform.
