Food Organics Garden Organics (FOGO) Trial
Council commenced the trial on 24 October 2023 across three locations in the Woodside and Lenswood areas. The trial involves changes to the collection of the FOGO and landfill bin, as well as introducing green FOGO bins to areas that previously have not had them.
The aim of the bin collection change is to improve environmental impact by decreasing the amount of waste that goes to landfill, particularly organic waste.
What are we trialing?
- Woodside township area — Weekly green bin collection and fortnightly blue landfill bin. The yellow lidded recycling bin will remain a fortnightly collection.
- Swamp Road/Tiers Road area — Weekly green bin collection provided to rural properties that have never had a green bin. The yellow lidded recycling bin remains the same and the blue landfill bin changes to a fortnightly collection.
- Woodside East — A fortnightly green lidded bin collection provided to rural properties that have never had a green bin. The yellow lidded fortnightly recycling remains the same and the blue landfill bin changes to a fortnightly collection.
