Did you know that spending time in nature can have long lasting health benefits?

October is Mental Health Awareness Month and Adelaide Hills Council invites you to join Lisa from Big Heart Adventures for a guided sensory experience at Woorabinda Bushland Reserve to encourage reflection, mindfulness and a deeper connection to nature.

We respectfully acknowledge that our event is on Kaurna land traditionally owned by the Kaurna people.

Who is the event suitable for?

This event is ideal for people wanting to try nature therapy or forest bathing. If you have any mobility or accessibility needs please contact Lisa on 0418 802 361 / (08) 7006 5620 as we are committed to ensuring our event is accessible. Minimum age to participate is 15 years old with an accompanying adult.

What should I bring?

Due to the variability of the weather, you will need to bring the following items: a small backpack or bag, filled water bottle, sun protection (hat, sunglasses, suncream) or wet weather gear (we will check the weather and remind you!), towel/blanket/yoga mat to lay on, comfortable walking shoes, warm layerable clothing as we will sit/stand/lay for periods of up to 15 minutes, a journal or notepad if you like to draw or write, walking poles (optional).

Light refreshments & tea are included at the end of our session. Please advise us of any dietary needs.

Accessibility Needs

Not all trails at Woorabinda Lake Reserve are wheelchair friendly, however we consider our location based on the needs of our group members. Please contact us to discuss your needs so we can plan our route accordingly.

Accessible toilets are available at the start/finish point.

Meeting Point

Meet at the entrance gate at the carpark on Woorabinda Drive (Mabel Street turns into Woorabinda Drive), Stirling.

Cancellations

A same day cancellation may also occur if weather or fire warnings are issued on the day.
