School Holiday: Mono Printing Surface Decoration on Clay

Join Ceramic Artist Simone Linder-Patton to create and decorate ceramic plates using soft slabs of clay. Explore slips, underglazes, stencils, and paper resists in this two-hour workshop. Glazed and fired pieces will be ready for collection in four weeks.

Mono Printing Surface Decoration on Clay

Participants will be introduced to making and decorating using soft slabs of clay.

Join Ceramic Artist Simone Linder-Patton in exploring the use of slips and underglazes with stencils and paper resists to create Mono print surface decoration on soft slabs of clay. These will then be made into ceramic plates. The two-hour workshop will give participants the opportunity to decorate and create a ceramic piece.

Simone will later glaze and fire the pieces and they should be ready to collect around four weeks after the workshop date.

  • Participant experience level: beginners through to experienced.
  • Do participants need to bring anything? Wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting messy.

Short bio of facilitating artist

Simone Linder-Patton is a South Australian ceramist and educator residing in the Adelaide Hills. From her studio near the township of Birdwood, Simone runs workshops and classes and has conducted workshops nationally and abroad.

Simone's creative practice encompasses many techniques and she has exhibited nationally and internationally with her pit fired, sgraffito decoration and carved works.
