Conservation Park

For more than a century, the gorges, waterfalls, and woodlands of Morialta have offered a recreational haven for hikers and rock climbers, located just 10 kilometers from Adelaide.

Experience the rugged ridges, scenic gullies, and seasonal waterfalls that define Morialta Conservation Park. The park features three waterfalls along Fourth Creek, connected by an extensive network of walking trails. From the rock-climbing areas, visitors can enjoy stunning views of Morialta Gorge and the nearby Adelaide plains.

The first two waterfalls are the most impressive, each cascading over sheer quartzite cliffs after rainfall. To witness the falls at their peak, visit during spring or winter when the water flow is strongest. For wildlife enthusiasts, the park's rock pools and creeks are home to small reptiles, frogs, and birds. Keep an eye out for honeyeaters and thornbills in the woodlands covering the hills.

Mukanthi Nature Play Space

The Mukanthi Nature Play Space at Morialta is a fantastic destination for both children and adults. Named after the Kaurna word for 'celebrate and play' and pronounced 'muh-ganthee,' this playground offers a variety of engaging activities.

Situated in the Stradbroke Road picnic area, the expansive play space, comparable in size to Adelaide Oval, boasts a climbing tower with a long slide, the intricate Great Snake, and three climbing boulders for honing rock climbing skills.

Crafted from natural materials, this playground is designed to challenge and inspire children, fostering a connection with nature. Visitors can explore the Kookaburra Nests, discover an Aboriginal fire pit at Frog Island, find a hidden tunnel at Great Snake, and ascend to Eagle’s Perch.

With convenient parking, accessible toilets, and barbecue areas, the Mukanthi Nature Play Space is an ideal location for a family outing.
